A story is to share, Hands are to hold, A hole is to dig, and Ruth Krauss books are for collecting.
My heart skipped a beat when I saw the cover release to “A Story Is to Share: How Ruth Krauss Found Another Way to Tell a Tale.

The story leads us through the life of Krauss, from her birth on a stormy night to her struggles with illness as a child.
Spending time at home in her bed, Ruth began writing, drawing, and even sewing her first books. From the violin to painting and learning how to be more herself at camp, we see Krauss always finding her “own way” of doing things.

Karuss went on to graduate as a designer from the Parsons School of Design, she didn’t succeed as an illustrator, but she did find something – words.

Isabelle Arsenault’s images are divine. Her use of muted and bright colors tells a story on its own. The Last page is a beautiful bright tribute with a wonderful nod to vintage Goldenbooks of the past, with Ruth leading the way.

A tribute to storytelling and making your own path with creativity.
